So, how did a kid from Ottawa, Canada, growing up in the ’50s become an impressionist? No one in our family had ever been in show business. No one ever had “show biz” yearnings. My father was a doctor. My mother was a housewife. So where did my desire to become an impressionist come from? I’ve often asked myself this question. I didn’t know the answer, but I did love the movies. As a boy, I would go every weekend, sometimes staying to see the show twice. Just going to the movies and getting so involved in the storytelling and the characters made me want to be that person up on the screen, never dreaming that I could turn it into a career.
The glory days of Hollywood and their icons, like no other, have remained as indelible images in our hearts and minds for decades. I, like many, idolized these giants of the screen and comedy, but was so fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet, work with, and get to know many of them along the way during my career. From the genius of Jack Benny, the unmatched humor of George Burns, the debonair, handsome Cary Grant, the unforgettable John Wayne, the king of late night hosts Johnny Carson, and the former actor-turned-president Ronald Reagan to name a few.
In this gem of a book are insights into the likes of many of these great people I’ve had the privilege and fortune to meet and imitate, shining new light on our beloved stars.
This is really not a biography, but more of a humorous glimpse of the people I’ve impersonated and some of the funny stories that happened along the way.

As someone who enjoys reading about show business yore, I was looking forward to reading Rich Little's memoir and I was not disappointed. The book was entertaining and it was fun to read about Rich Little's encounters with those whom he impersonated. I came away from the book amazed at the friendships Rich formed with the likes of Jimmy Stewart , Jack Benny , Stewart Granger and Ronald Reagan These were some deep friendships and there were a lot of great anecdotes that came out of them. Rich also drew pictures of these men and woman (Carol Channing) which head each chapter and there are a lot of great pictures along the way. You also learn what it was like to be on the Dean Martin Celebrity roasts and Rich briefly mentions a few people on his journey through show business that were not nice to him. I would have liked to have learned more about his experiences on the show Kopykats that he was on with other impersonators but other than that it was a very enjoyable read.Product details

I like this book. This book has information I never knew about Rich Little.
A delightful read! What a great person he seems to be.
Fun read with stories about many of the stars from my youth. I found myself doing the voices in my head......or out loud.
A very interesting book filled with lots of unpublshed information about the author’s relationships and experiences with those he has impersonated. Many carbon sketches too!
If you liked movies and actors, Rich Little provides a fun and informational insight to the persons he imitates. Interestingly enough, his stories actually reinforce my impressions of what I thought those people were really like. It's a quick and very fun read.
Rich Little is someone I have always enjoyed watching. His Talent is immense. It's nice to get a little background on understanding how his career started and evolved. Also great to get some insight on some of the celebrities he's impersonated.
A nice Little book (Get it?!) from the King of Voices himself. I adored & wanted to BE Rich Little as a kid. I heard his wonderful 2 part interview on the podcast Penn's Sunday School & fell in love all over again. Had to get the book & thoroughly enjoyed it. If you're reading this review, Rich, THANK YOU for being you, Little man!
